Reverse Mortgage

Tri County's Housing Counselor will: 

  • Review eligibility requirements and types of reverse mortgage products
  • Review costs of obtaining a reverse mortgage
  • Calculate the amount of reverse mortgage for which the family would be eligible
  • Review alternative options (i.e.: other funding for home repairs)
  • Refer the client to other resources as applicable

Client will receive: 

  • A fact sheet describing the HECM product
  • "Home Made Money - A Consumer's Guide to Reverse Mortgages"
  • "Just the FAQS: Answers to Common Questions About Reverse Mortgages"
  • "A Housing Guide for Senior Citizens"
  • A certificate of completion at the end of the counseling session; certificate is good for six months
